Traditional short-legged, rough-coated Jack Russell

Pepe is a long coated white and tan 5 year old, got first litter
from first mating, sired 4 pups, 3 black & white and one solid tan.
Has a fabulous temperament, lots of energy, very brave, ideal to
produce pets or working dogs. Stands 11 inches at the shoulder.
Fully vacinated. No larger breeds please. With exception of Patterdales.
Pepe, due to his soft coat and friendly nature is quite rare amongst
Jack Russells. As more and more Jacks are kept as pets these days
he is ideal to sire pets to non-working breeds. Although both his
parents were excellent hunters, Pepe hasn't inherited the strong
hunting instinct unlike his full brother Paris. Pepe is a high energy dog.
Pepe carries recessive  black, tan and white gene. Can sire solid and tan
and white dogs to solid, black & tan and tri-coloured bitches.
Does not produce black and tans. Any black colouring on a
tan base coat usually disapears as the puppy gets older.
Very good with maiden and difficult bitches.  Siring
quality pups. We are based in West Sussex. Pepe is registered with
the Kennel Club 'Companion Dog Club'.

                       Fee:  £85
This includes two matings during ovulation.

If you can give an unwanted JRT a home, please do before
considering breeding your own. All dogs can be rehabilitated and
retrained. If you do decide to breed I will not take any bitches under
two years or over 7 years of age or overweight.

Jack Russells are high energy working dogs, a type more than a breed.
They get bored easily, need plenty of excercise and mental stimulation.
Training the puppy is vital to instill discipline and create a happy dog.
JRTs love to work, many do well in agility events, running and jumping
is just what they love to do most. Many will go to ground, dig and chase
rodents, many farmers still use them to flush out and catch rats and rabbits.
Jack Russells are not lap dogs, even the so-called miniture JRTs. Many still
retain their strong hunting instinct even though many are not used to hunt.
A confident dog requires a confident owner, otherwise problems will arise
when a dog is allowed to rule it's owner through lack of discipline and
structure. Dogs are pack animals, where there is leadership and rank, the
humans in any dog pack must take on that role as leader.

Wendy Fassam (left) with her JRT cross dog, who was placed 3rd in the Crufts mini pairs  agility 2008. Wendy has been Caesar's agility trainer for the past 9 months. Caesar competed in his first affiliated show over Easter, and performed very well for a first attempt, a couple of mistakes in a very competitive event. Wendy actually won this class with her JRT Pip. Agility is a team event between handler and dog which requires a lot of concentration on part of the handler to give the dog the correct signals.Caesar has so far competed at 4 shows since easter, with improvement at every show, but due to my silly mistakes I got us both eliminated. Most dogs wouldn't start competing until they done at least 9 months training, so he's doing really well, Caesar has just completed the nine months. Wendy has been extremely helpful at both the shows and in training.

The pup below is my latest recruit, from Pepe's
latest litter, out of a black and tan wired haired JRT, he's named Rufus, an almost solid red, some white on paws and chest. He's just eight weeks old and already showing signs of typical terrier behaviour. A strong confident personality and may become another agility dog in due course. They can start training at about 16 months but cannot start competing until 18 months of age. A litter sister has also gone to an agility home.
Tyrannius Rufus
Caesar is one of 4 pups sired by Pepe to a black
Patterdale Terrier in 2005. This cross is also known as a
'patterjack'. Caesar is a high energy,
easy to train dog, with a great attitude and a willingness to learn. Stands under 13 inches and is registered under agility small catagory. He has a fabulous nature, great conformation, very athletic and fast.

Caesar has been in training for agility since
November last year and has already competed in several shows since easter, improving at every competition. But my silly mistakes have meant a few eliminations, Caesar on the other hand has performed extremely well and absolutely loves it.
Neither of us had done anything like this before
so we had to find a good trainer, which we did, see  bottom of page...
