Code is a five year old gelding and beautifully bred. Originally sold as a yearling for £160,000 then resold out of training from Michael Stoutes yard in Newmarket and bought at the sales by bloodstock agent Paul Leavy whom we purchased the horse from. At time of purchase Code still held a Derby entry, Sir Michael Stoute thought
a lot of him, but he was too big and backward to start racing.
Code is a stunning individual, a very big, strong horse and now matured into to a class horse. With a large heart and lung capacity that gives him more staying power over most other horses of his type. He is an exciting prospect.
His sire Danehill (USA), one of the worlds leading sires in recent years, was a very fast horse as was his maternal grandsire Gulch (USA), his stamina will come from his dam Hidden Meaning (USA). His family include a number of Kentucky Derby and Oaks winners including Gato del Sol.
Code has an amazing temperament, a kind eye and a willingness to please. He has now fully matured and grown and filled out well and will be an exciting prospect for the coming season as a NH horse.
Code has had a breathing problem and the fact that he has managed to complete and even get placed in his races to date has been nothing short of remarkable. After two operations to his soft palete his now fully recovered and back racing.
